About the tutor

I have a passion for reading, writing, languages, and teaching.  My deep knowledge of language, combined with my enthusiasm for helping students unlock the secrets used by good writers, is evident in my 26 years experience as a teacher and leader in Australian schools.  I also have experience in communication in other contexts including preparing grant applications and reports for a large international relief organisation.

26 years experience teaching English and Humanities has allowed me to refine the way that I tutor students who wish to correct or enhance their writing skills. I examine each student’s writing so that I can understand what they need to focus on to improve.  As I work with students on their priority areas, I focus on explaining language and writing in practical and down-to-earth ways.  I have seen the benefit of my approach to helping students improve their writing and communication skills in the improved outcomes and confidence of students I have tutored.
